Choji’s Hunger

Choji’s Hunger part 4

Choji  is feeling worse than he has ever felt before, all that is missing to go with him gloomy mood is a downpour of rain.   Today had been the first sunny day in what seemed like forever.  He had fallen in love and things were fun.  Then everything got turned upside down.  All he could think about  was how things had  gone so wrong.

A little earlier Tonton had wandered away from Shizune.  She was crying and not really watching where she was going.  She gets to close to the muddy slope of the river bank and starts to slide.  She tries to stop herself by digging her hooves in the thick slippery mud.  Refusing to give up she just keeps trying to climb up the slope.  

She can’t think clearly and her little body is getting tired.  After sometime of trying to reach safety she loses her fight and slides into the rain swollen river. She lets out a loud squeal.

     “Tonton!  Tonton!  Where are you?”  Shizune yells out while frantically searching for her lost pig.  She is running from here to there searching  for her.  “I will never forgive myself if something has happened to her.”

Meanwhile Choji hears a pig squeal and sees Tonton in the river.  He runs ahead of her and plunges in.  He swims out to her and grabs the half drowned pig.  He clings to her trembling body tightly.  He is worrying about her  and about Shizune.  He must make sure that they are both alright.

     “Silly piggy hasn’t Shizune taught you better?  You should never swim alone.”  he says trying to calm her down.

He makes it back to the bank.  With the last of his strength he tosses her to safety by using his Expansion Jutsu .  Suddenly, he gets swept away with a surge of water.  Tonton sees it happen and squeals for him.  She gets up and runs along the bank after him until she collapses from exhaustion.  She squeals for him again and again.

Shizune is still frantically looking for Tonton.  She sees the swollen river ahead and can’t help but fear the worst.  As she gets closer to the river she hears Tonton squealing.  She runs toward the squealing and sees  her on the bank covered in mud.  Her heart leaps for joy when she gets to her.  

Tonton is staring at the river and keeps on squealing.  She tries to get up and immediately falls back down.

Shizune looks out at the river and sees a body floating down it.  The body is fast approaching the waterfall.
